Dominican News from the Solomons

In the 1950s and 60s, Dominican News from the Solomons kept supporters in Australia and New Zealand informed about the fledgling Dominican mission in the Western Solomons. These monthly brochures supply a wealth of detail about the the early missionaries, their aspirations, their struggles and their accomplishments. Sometimes, something quite unexpected turns up - like Fr Ambrose's efforts to preserve the skill of building war canoes (though no longer for their original purpose) in the August, 1959 issue (p.3).

The original journals were printed in a different-coloured ink for each month. Experience has shown, however, that they are easier to read on the Web if reproduced in black-and-white.

The earliest numbers have been converted to a single Word97 file by Bro Michael Kisu. The remaining issues are digital images of each page.
